Apocalypse Suite
Take a journey into the near future, from now until the end of the apocalypse. From The Beginning of the End all the way through to The End of Everything and the Desolation that follows... depicting closed-mindedness, apathy, resistance to change, and the last party of the rich as the world crumbles... oh and some swashbuckling too. All of this recorded with a powerful and engaging orchestral soundtrack.
# | Title | Length |
---|---|---|
1 | Beginning of the End | 6:12 |
We live on the brink of the apocalypse right now. All it would take is for us to ignore the world around us and the problems we cause. This piece with its haunting beginning soon evolves into a powerful soundtrack of what could be... Musically this sets up some of the themes and motifs for the overall Apocalypse Suite. Not quite an overture, more a precursor of things to come. | ||
2 | Lament of the Lost | 3:50 |
A wordless lament for those that are already lost, in their own personal apocalypse in this modern world. | ||
3 | Rat Race | 4:03 |
Rat Race... "a way of life in which people are caught up in a fiercely competitive struggle for wealth or power." People are blind to the struggles of our planet in trying to keep their heads above water in their rat race. | ||
4 | The Old Guard | 3:06 |
The establishment who never want to change. The old guard who won't believe the evidence and continue as if nothing is going awry. | ||
5 | Pirates of the Apocalypse | 3:38 |
There are always those who take advantage of everyone else; the scammers, phishers, hackers, and other modern electronic pirates - enabling the digital apocalypse. | ||
6 | Last Waltz | 4:35 |
On the eve of the apocalypse. One last dance of the rich and powerful denying the encroaching dystopia and turning a blind eye to the rest of society. | ||
7 | The End of Everything | 4:24 |
The apocalypse. The fall of civilisation. One last gasp attempt from the good to overturn the evil, and as the dark inevitably overcomes the light we're left with the echo of a lone voice disappearing into the void. | ||
8 | Desolation of Dreams | 3:10 |
All that's left are echoes of what was. Desolation where there used to be dreams. |
